China is seeking to improve the quality of its workforce, in part, by overhauling vocational education, said Vivien Stewart, senior adviser for Education at the Asia Society. Shanghai has developed a consortia aimed at boosting cooperation among companies and education institutions to give teachers experience in high-priority industries.
